The Rio Blue Light Whitening kit is a peroxide free alternative to teeth whitening which combines the use of a whitening gel with blue light technology.
You simply apply the gel to your teeth via the mouth trays and fix the light unit in place so that it shines blue light onto the teeth to accelerate the process.
The kit contains the blue light unit and batteries, two mouth trays, three syringe applicators of whitening gel and full instructions.
This product is available from Boots on line and in retail stores and costs £29.99.
What is Rio Blue Light Teeth Whitening?
The Rio Blue Light Whitening kit is very easy to use. Boots recommend that the light unit should be applied for 10 minutes per session and the unit automatically switches off after 10 minutes so you do not have to worry about timing. For maximum results, you can repeat the treatment three times in one session and you should begin to see positive results immediately after the first use.
The whitening gel is peroxide free and contains a blend of food grade stain removers at a safe strength. The blue light does not cause damage to the teeth or gums and provided the instructions are followed, the kit is very safe to use. The kit can be used daily for a month and once you have reached your whitening goal, Boots recommend that you top up the treatment once a month to maintain the effect.
This is a peroxide free product. It is easy to use and treatment times are reasonable at half an hour per day. It is easily available on line or from the High Street and some consumers have been very happy with the results.
Rio Blue Light Teeth Whitening…. Verdict
Although some consumers have been happy with the teeth whitening effect of the Rio Blue Light Whitening system, others have not.
Some consumers have complained the kit does not work and that it has caused the gums to ache. There do not seem to be refills of teeth whitening gel available from Boots so it may be hard to keep the treatment topped up without having to buy the whole unit again. The mouth guards are a standard size so may not fit all users correctly.
The Rio Blue Light Whitening system will suit some people, especially those looking for a slight improvement to teeth colour but are reluctant to use peroxide. However, there are questions as to whether it works and at £29.99, it is expensive if it does not work for you.
For guaranteed teeth whitening, a product, which contains a safe level of carbamide peroxide, will give you better results for the same money.
